On Saturday I braved the heat and competed in my 16th consecutive St Mary’s Feast 5.5-Mile Road Race in Cranston, RI.  With temperatures reaching the high 90′s, my guide Gus and I were soaked in sweat before we hit the first mile mare.  Although it was extremely hot, I had a near perfect race, finishing in a time of time of 1:35:02.  This was one of my best times on this course.  Thanks Gus for sweating it out with me.  Also a very special Thank you to Tony Popa for graciously providing Gus and I a meal and some free adult beverages on  the house at his fine Italian restaurant just a few feet from the finish line.  Thank you Mr. Popa.

I’ll be in action again this Friday afternoon  at 5 p.m., to race in the 39th annual Blessing of the Fleet 10 Mile Road Race in Narragansett!
